Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the experience-based training is to introduce the RIDE (Robotics for the Inclusive Development of Atypical and Typical Children) method to the students and to train the teachers to use it.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The RIDE method, used Europe-wide, combines digital storytelling, the use of educational robots and the development of text comprehension and language skills.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2016, the experts at Abacusan Studio have been continuously developing a robotics-based methodology for the development of text comprehension. Following the success of various pedagogical and library-educational projects, the RIDE method has been developed by experts from 6 countries, initiated and coordinated by the Abacusan Studio, with the support of the Erasmus+ programme. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The method is based on the project method, robotics and digital storytelling: children work on parts of literary works. They bring the characters of the text to life by building and programming robot characters, bringing the scenes to life in a “digital puppet theatre”. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The RIDE method creates a pedagogical environment that combines the Guttenberg and Neumann galaxies, in which children are motivated both to read the text with attention and depth, and to use the digital solutions of robotics. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The toolkit is designed to help you apply the method with worksheets, ideas and detailed, modular teacher’s guides – giving teachers and children a high level of autonomy. For children, it supports self-regulated learning and group work, and gives teachers a great freedom of choice in differentiating tasks. The methodology, which builds on children’s creativity, supports the use of other literary works in addition to the texts in the toolkit. It can thus be used as a tool to make reading more fun. In addition to text comprehension, the activities also help to develop linguistic awareness and communication. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The modules are designed for 5 lessons and can be used as stand-alone projects, but can also be integrated into literature or foreign language lessons, or library-educational activities. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The RIDE pedagogical toolkit and methodology to be acquired in the training currently includes 23 literary works and is available in 10 languages (English, Hungarian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Romanian, Slovak, Ukrainian, Turkish), and the development of children’s competences has been confirmed by measurements taken by experts from 3 universities.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Learning objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the training is to prepare participants to use the RIDE methodology in their daily teaching practice, which is an excellent tool to make reading and working with literary works in both mother tongue and foreign language classes easier and more attractive for children and groups.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
