The aim of the Abacusan-GE VándoRobot Programme is to enrich the digital competences and programming skills of the students of the successful schools, to develop their algorithmic thinking, creative skills and abilities, as well as their social competences such as cooperation and teamwork.
The organisations cooperating in the launch, implementation and maintenance of the project will provide the necessary robotics kits and training for the teachers leading the project, and will provide ongoing mentoring throughout the programme to create a framework for the successful implementation of the 10-week robotics education project, which will be implemented free of charge for public education institutions and kindergartens, and for the career guidance of their students in IT careers.
The aim of the competition
Any school, kindergarten or vocational training institution registered in Hungary can apply.
Details of the Application
From Abacusan Stúdió Educational Organising Nonprofit Ltd.
and the Giving Hungary Foundation and the GE Vernova tripartite cooperation between the Abacusan VándoRobot Programme was created to enable students from public education institutions whose financial resources do not allow it to explore the exciting and motivating world of robotics.
11 to 11 institutions will be selected per period
Thanks to the success of the programme over the past 7 years, GE has steadily increased the number of Abacusan VándoRobot KIT kits that can be applied for in a single rotation, allowing up to 33 institutions to join the programme per school year.
Together, the three organisations believe that the programme can open up new horizons for students, inspire them to pursue careers in IT, empower those who have already tried it – or “just” give them the joy of discovery, creation, achievement and play.
